ISLANDER FOGCUTTER COCKTAIL
This drink is one of nostalgia for me from my family’s favorite restaurant (The Islander) at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Mrs. Pearl, the owner, was famous for her FOGCUTTER COCKTAILS that packed a mean “punch”. No thanks to Hurricane Hugo, our beach house is gone, and The Islander is also just a memory!
4 jiggers Mount Gay rum
2 jiggers Vodka
1 jigger Triple Sec
1 jigger Brandy
2 jiggers orange juice
2 jiggers margarita mix ( I use Jose Cuervo)
2 teaspoons grenadine
2 sprigs mint
If you have time, chill your cocktail glass. Mix all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until chilled. Immediately pour into chilled glass and top with the mint. Makes 2 seriously strong cocktails. Sip accordingly! And by all means enjoy and say Cheers with Caution!
