NIMAN RANCH BACON SAMMIE
YOU HAD ME AT FIRST BITE! For years, I stuck with one brand of thick-sliced Applewood Smoked Bacon and dang all those nitrites were tasty. Even though I limited myself to special occasions, having grown up on “Pig” some things are just in your blood, so to speak. NIMAN RANCH products do not disappoint, so when I saw for the first time their Applewood Smoked UNCURED BACON I immediately snatched it from the HT case. I knew I had some John’s Island local grown tomatoes and Vertical Roots Lettuce and Duke’s Mayonaise (always nothing but) on hand, I had the perfect solution to give it a try.
Not only was the bacon good, but it was damn perfection! Crisp and crunchy, lean but just enough fat to make it tasty…and the no antibiotics, or added hormones, vegetarian fed make it almost a “health food”. I see myself in the future justifying bacon at least once a week. Cook a batch and save to sprinkle on salads, baked potatoes, in baked beans. Oh and it will be so yummy wrapped around those dates and baked. But while summer tomatoes are in, you can’t beat a NIMAN RANCH BLT!
*Hint…if you don’t want all the mess from cooking inside, cook outside on the grill in a fry pan or griddle.
